misc weekend corner store buys

we went by the corner store and I picked up a handful of specific date mercs for my folder, a nice 70-D kennedy for nine bucks-- that made me pretty happy as well as the 90% 2000-S Kennedy I got for nine-- both of those are usually a bit more expensive than nine-- and I got a VF 2 cent piece for 9, that I fished out from a bunch of holed and worn ones, probably because it had some rather dark toning on it; and I let my kid fish out five coins out of the dollar unsorted basket. I also got a bu 64 kennedy for my folder and the guy gave me two nice 64 Ds to choose from and I accidentally picked up the other 64 P and chunked the Ds back. no problem he gave me those for four fifty which is less than I would have got them buying singly off any internet vendor.

that was around fifty and that's where I drew the line. It's a sickness ya know, you have to limit yourself.

I wouldnt have gone at all, ya see, having too much debt and all, ahem, but yesterday a friend wanted a morgan and I gave him a nice one and a minnesota quarter for $20 so I was feeling like I need to replace stuff. LOL I could have had fifty off him since he lost a bet with me, namely, he thought the Druze were a middle eastern Christian sect, like the Nestorians, and I said no way dude they're Muslim. He bet me thirty bucks on that and we looked it up on wiki and he had to concede then his error. I didnt take that money though, it would have been shameful to do that. But I wasnt feeling to guilty about the morgan though even though I dont think I've ever bought a 21 for more than $15 tops.

Anyhow my kid fished out one UK 2 pence, one UK six pence, both pretty coins, two altered wheat pennies with goofy stuff stamped on them; and one nice silver canada dime from 02. the guy gave em to him for eighty cents each though to be nice I guess, which is good, since the only one I even thought was worth eighty was the silver dime. come to think of it maybe junior got them pennies out o the fifty cent box. I dont know but ya got to let a little kid have some fun, so I didnt give him a hard time about the pennies. one had a square and compass stamped into it and another had this one the front like a cartoon bubble comin out o Abe's mouth " Lee takes Richmond." Real funny, I thought who the hell would stamp that on a penny, and you could barely even see it the letters were so small.

No matter your cash level, if you're addicted to numi and/or PM, things can rapidly get out of hand. I think that, for a lot of us, we don't just like our coins/PM, we're addicted to them.

Really hope you have a handle on the debt and are working your way out. Few things in life are as worthwhile as becoming debt free.
